How we protect your money

Last updated 13 August 2026

In short: employers fund work upfront, the money is held in escrow until the work is approved, and every movement is permanently recorded in a ledger that cannot be edited or deleted — including by us.

Your earnings are funded before you start

When an employer posts a job, the full cost is taken from their balance immediately and held in a separate escrow account. It is not theirs any more, and it is not ours — it is reserved against that job.

This is the single most important protection on the platform. It means work that gets approved always has money behind it. An employer cannot post a hundred tasks, collect the work and then turn out to have an empty balance.

Every movement is permanently recorded

Balances on this site are not a number in a column that someone can edit. Every payment, fee, bonus and withdrawal is written as a pair of entries that must cancel out to zero, and the database itself rejects any attempt to change or delete one after it is written.

Corrections are made by posting a reversing entry, never by erasing the original. So the history of your balance is complete, and you can see every line of it in your statement. If a staff member ever adjusts your balance by hand, that adjustment appears in your own statement with their reason attached.

Payout details are encrypted

Your payout details — mobile money number, bank account or crypto address — are encrypted before they are stored, and only decrypted at the moment a payout is being processed. Staff working the payout queue see the destination only when they are actually paying you.

Your account

  • Passwords are hashed with argon2id, the current recommended algorithm. Nobody here can read your password — not staff, not an administrator.
  • Two-factor login is available in your security settings. Turn it on and your password alone is no longer enough to reach your account.
  • You can see every device signed in to your account and sign them all out at once. A password change signs out every other session automatically.
  • Uploads are checked by their actual file contents, not by their file name.

Things we will never do

Support will never ask for your password, your one-time code, or your wallet or banking PIN. Nobody legitimate needs any of them, so if you are ever asked, you can be confident the request did not come from us — let us know and we will look into it.

We do not send links asking you to “verify” your account with your PIN, and we do not process withdrawals through anyone's personal number. Payouts only ever come from the accounts listed on your withdrawal page.

Found a problem?

If you find a way to break something on this site, tell us at security@microworkjobs.com before telling anyone else. Report it in good faith — do not access other people's accounts or data, and do not disrupt the service — and we will not pursue you for it. We will confirm we received your report within three working days.
